About
Jessie Redmond (pronouns: they/them) is a passionate DEI writer with a strong background in Women and Gender Studies. With 3 years of experience, have worked with organizations such as The Karate Club @ UGA and oSTEM @ UGA to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Jessie's personal journey into DEI began in 2020 during the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic and the murder of George Floyd. This experience ignited their dedication to understanding and addressing issues related to racism, ableism, intersectionality, and post-intersectionality.
As a writer, Jessie specializes in the lived experiences of disabled people, intersectional inclusivity in the workplace, and activism through drag. They believe in the power of words to challenge biases, raise awareness, and inspire positive change. Through their writing, Jessie aims to foster dialogue, promote empathy, and advocate for justice in all areas of life.
In their free time, Jessie enjoys sewing costumes, doing drag makeup, practicing taekwondo, and doom-scrolling on TikTok. They believes that self-care and personal growth are essential for sustaining the energy and passion needed to make a meaningful impact.
Jessie approaches their work with empathy, compassion, and a deep commitment to amplifying marginalized voices. They believe that everyone deserves an equal opportunity to thrive and succeed, and they strive to create inclusive spaces through their writing.
